Drug for treatment and prevention of parasitic diseases in ruminants and pigs
Neomectin 1% is administered to animals for treatment and prevention of arachnoentomoses and nematode diseases:
- to cattle for strongylosis, dictyocaulosis, trichocephaliasis, strongyloidiasis, telaziosis, siphunculatosis, hypodermatosis, psoroptosis, sarcoptosis and chorioptosis;
- to sheep for dictyocauliesis, protostrongylosis, mulleriosis, haemonchosis, ostertagiosis, nematodiroza, marshallagiosis, cooperiosis, habertiosis, esophagostomosis, bunostomosis,
trichocephaliasis, strongyloidosis, malophagosis, estrosis, psoroptosis;
- to deer for dictyocauliesis, ostertagiosis, nematodirosis, strongyloidiasis, trichocephaliasis, edemagenosis, cephenomyiasis and sarcoptosis;
- to pigs for trichocephaliasis, ascariasis, metastronylosis, esophagostomosis, strongyloidiasis, stefanurosis, haematopinoosis and sarcoptosis.
Ivermectin — 10 mg/ml, excipients up to 1 ml.
Neomectin 1% is administered to animals intramuscularly as a single dose in compliance with aseptic rules: to pigs into the neck and inner thigh surface, to ruminants - into the croup or neck area in the following doses: - to cattle, sheep and deer – 1 ml Neomectin 1% per 50 kg of animal body weight (200 μg ivermectin per 1 kg of body weight); - to pigs – 1 ml Neomectin 1% per 33 kg of animal
body weight (300 μg ivermectin per 1 kg of body weight).
In severe cases of sarcoptosis in animals, treatment should be done twice with 8 to 10-day interval.
In case the volume of injected Composition solution is more than 10 ml, it should be injected into the animal in several places.
If the amount of the solution to be injected exceeds 10 ml, it should be injected to the animal into several injection sites.
Animals should be treated for nematode diseases in the autumn before stabling and in the spring before the start of grazing, for gadfly infestations – immediately after end of gadfly activity season, for arachnoentomoses pathogens – as required.
Each drug series undergoes preliminary testing on a small group of animals (7 — 10 animals). If no complications develop within 3 days, treatment is given to the entire livestock.
Slaughter of ruminants and pigs for meat is allowed no earlier than 28 days following the most recent administration of 1%. Meat of
animals that had to be slaughtered before the expiry of the aforesaid time periods may be used as feed for fur-bearing animals.
The drug should be stored sealed in the manufacturer packaging, protected from direct sunlight and kept separate from food
products and feeds at temperatures between 0°С and +25°С.
The drug has a shelf life of 2 years from the date of manufacture, provided that the storage conditions are met at all times, and 28
days once the bottle is opened.
