Ceftiosan 100 ml

Ceftiosan is administered to cattle, pigs and sporting horses for treatment of respiratory airway diseases, interdigital necrobacteriosis, acute postpartum metritis and other bacterial diseases caused by pathogens sensitive to ceftiofur.

Ceftiofur hydrochloride — 50 mg/ml, excipients up to 1 ml.

Ceftiosan is administered to animals parenterally once daily as follows:

- to cattle — subcutaneously at 1 ml per 50 kg of animal body weight (1 mg of ceftiofur per 1 kg of body weight) for respiratory airway diseases for 3 to 5 days, for necrobacteriosis for 3 days, for  endometritis for 5 days;

- to pigs – intramuscularly at 1 ml per 16 kg of animal body weight (3 mg ceftiofur per 1 kg of body weight) for respiratory airway diseases for 3 days;

- to sporting horses — intramuscularly at 1 ml per 20 kg of animal body weight in the middle third of the neck (2.5 mg ceftiofur per 1 kg of body weight) for 5 days. 

Shake the bottle well before each use.

Contraindications to the use of the drug include the animal’s individual hypersensitivity to β-lactam antibiotics.

Slaughter of cattle for meat is allowed no earlier than 8 days, pigs - not earlier than 6 days following the most recent administration of Ceftiosan. Meat of animals that had to slaughtered before expiry of the aforesaid time periods may be used as feed for fur-bearing animals. Milk from milking cows may be used for food purposes without any restrictions during the drug administration period.

The drug should be stored sealed in the manufacturer packaging, protected from direct sunlight and kept separate from food products and feeds at temperatures between +5°С and +25°С.

The drug has a shelf life of 2 years from the date of manufacture, provided that the storage conditions are met at all times, and 28 days once the bottle is opened.
